Our client has an opening for a full-time Guardianship/Estate Planning Attorney to provide direct legal representation to caregivers of minor children who are not under the care of their biological parents and are under the legal care of a kinship caregiver. The attorney will represent caregivers in Guardianship and Guardianship Advocacy cases, draft wills and other estate planning documents. Responsibilities include managing a full caseload, meeting with clients to determine appropriate legal advocacy, and participating in court hearings, mediations, negotiations, and staff meetings. The position also requires legal research and drafting of pleadings. Additionally, the attorney will conduct outreach to community organizations to promote the Kinship Project’s services.
Qualifications
- Member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
- Experience or background in probate, guardianship, and/or estate planning is preferred.
- Courtroom experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while valuing collaboration with a team.
- Willingness to travel within Broward County.
