Job Description

Our client is a global, industry-leading technology manufacturer with well-branded and quality product lines. They serve various industries including Automotive, Truck, Off-Highway/Construction, and HVAC&R industries.


They are seeking a dynamic Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift operations with over 50 production employees. This role involves overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and inventory accuracy while driving continuous improvement. The supervisor will lead a team, providing coaching, career development, and managing schedules, attendance, and discipline. Key responsibilities include enforcing safety standards, conducting regular inspections, and supporting process improvements. The supervisor will foster effective communication across all plant levels and manage resources to meet production targets while minimizing costs. A successful candidate will bring strong leadership skills, manufacturing knowledge, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily management, safety, quality, delivery, inventory accuracy, and productivity metrics in line with AOP plan and business goals.
  • Lead cross-training plans, driving continuous improvement and engagement.
  • Responsible for all aspects of direct reports’ day-to-day activities, safety, morale, position and career development, coaching, discipline, schedule, timesheet, and attendance.
  • Responsible for safety initiatives, PPE, safety concerns and suggestions, and completing the necessary paperwork to include monthly safety inspection, Behavior Based Safety (BBS) Observations, and accident investigation reports, including Global 8D reporting when needed.
  • Help develop methods and provide support to continually improve manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible for effective communication with all levels of the plant from direct reports to the Plant Manager.
  • Order small tools, protective clothing, equipment, and other items necessary for production and safety.
  • Hold weekly toolbox departmental meetings.
  • Employee training and evaluation.
  • Participate in the hiring practice by interviewing/selecting candidates.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department using the 5S process.


Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required. An associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 3+ years of prior supervisory experience or training required with second or third-shift supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes/procedures and supervisory techniques.
  • Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are required.
  • Bilingual candidate is a plus.
  • SAP (ERP) experience preferred.
