Summary
We are recruiting a dynamic Business Development Executive to join our client’s mission-driven team. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in fields such as advanced manufacturing, machine learning, robotics, automation, and more. The Business Development Executive will spend most of their time in the field, visiting customers, identifying their needs, and aligning solutions. Successful candidates will be highly driven, able to engage with many clients daily and will have a passion for delivering impactful solutions in the STEM and technical education sectors. This is a performance-based role with significant earning potential, rewarding those who thrive in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
Location
You would be covering the territory of Wisconsin and Eastern Minnesota. There is a requirement to be in the field 4 days a week with the flexibility to work remotely the rest of the time.

Primary Responsibilities
- Spend at least four days a week in the field visiting customers and prospects, aiming to engage with at least five customers or prospects per day.
- Build strong relationships with diverse customers, including schools, universities, and industrial facilities, understanding their goals and aligning solutions to meet their needs.
- Participate in STEM events and tradeshows, actively engaging with potential leads and ensuring a presence from setup to teardown.
- Adhere to the company's ½-day response rule, ensuring quick follow-ups on customer and prospect inquiries, concerns, and issues within four hours.
- Achieve sales targets and KPIs, including quotes, orders, engagement, and pipeline development, while maintaining high standards of accuracy in forecasting.
- Represent all suppliers in all customer interactions, working collaboratively with colleagues across the organization to drive sales and deliver solutions.
- Reach out to both known and unknown prospects, confidently introducing solutions and initiating discussions with those who may not initially have interest.
- Engage in continuous self-improvement and team development, always striving for excellence in both effort and performance.
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with a diverse range of individuals.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and other sales management software.
- Ability to learn and communicate complex technical solutions and products effectively.
- Results-driven, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, ideally within the STEM, technical education, or industrial technology sectors.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, field-based sales environment with a focus on relationship-building and problem-solving.
- A history of success in high-level customer engagement and lead generation.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work independently in the field.
