The Business Development Manager (BDM) drives sales and profit growth within an assigned geographical area. The BDM is responsible for driving results through prospecting, training, and developing effective sales strategies and programs, keeping abreast of the latest industry trends, and determining the potential impact a new trend may have on the company’s products and services. The BDM has the business acumen to understand and communicate the Positec commercial business model to potential dealers, resellers, and end customers (as appropriate). The BDM must rely on previous sales experience to be able to connect to the Dealer and to understand and explain Positec’s commercial brand, Kress, and the product’s leading advantages.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain solid working relationships with prospective Dealers and internal channel partners to meet and exceed sales goals for our commercial brand, Kress.
- Responsible for dealer recruiting in an assigned territory to meet sales and market share goals as well as build out the RTK antenna network.
- Ability to explain the Positec commercial business model to dealers and demonstrate products to both end users and dealer prospects.
- Proficient with the tools and resources provided by Positec to support the Kress business including, but not limited to Kress Dealer Portal, HubSpot, etc.
- Ensure that the needs of the Dealer are met and complaints are resolved in a timely manner.
- Conduct training events for Dealer personnel.
- Analyze sales and marketing data to determine the most influential business development techniques.
- Develop innovative sales strategies to increase sales with assigned dealer territory.
- Conduct surveys to understand dealer needs better.
- Attend trade shows to promote company products and services.
- Ensure the brand awareness within an assigned dealer territory meets company expectations.
- Monitor competitor’s sales activities within assigned dealer territory.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience managing a Sales Territory and driving customer activation as a sales leader, business development manager, or territory manager
- Experience in developing and building a Sales territory via new customer acquisition and growth of existing customers. (OPE industry experience is not required)
- Ability to implement sales strategies, inclusive of explaining the Positec business model
- Able to hit key performance KPIs
- Solid business skills, to ensure understanding and the ability to communicate the Positec Commercial Business model
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
