Job Description

The Family Safety Network (FSN) in Cass, Hubbard, and Clearwater Counties of Northeast Minnesota is seeking an Executive Director. FSN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on providing services for victims of intimate partner violence and advocating for social change to interrupt the cycle of violence.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and Vision:

  • Lead FSN in advancing its mission, vision, and values.
  • Collaborate with the Board on strategic planning to maximize program services and equity.
  • Assess the organization’s business model to ensure sustainability and meet community needs.
  • Cultivate a shared leadership and inclusive organizational culture.
  • Maintain a strong and transparent relationship with the Board, ensuring accountability and strategic alignment.

Advocacy, Development, and Community Relations:

  • Serve as the organization’s primary spokesperson, representing FSN to external stakeholders.
  • Lead fundraising efforts through donor cultivation, fundraising events, and community outreach.
  • Maintain relationships with existing donors and seek new partnerships with foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Ensure the efficient allocation of resources to align with FSN’s mission and financial priorities.

Operations and Infrastructure:

  • Foster an inclusive work environment that supports staff and client needs.
  • Assess internal structures and ensure clarity in decision-making, staff roles, and responsibilities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for staff and assess compensation packages to ensure competitiveness.
  • Oversee financial management, ensuring the organization operates in compliance with grant requirements and supports its mission.

Required Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.

  • Leadership experience in nonprofit management, with a preference for experience in domestic violence advocacy.
  • A creative, innovative mindset with a track record of implementing organizational vision and strategies.
  • Strong understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and change management.
  • Experience building and supervising high-performing teams and leading with empathy and accountability.
  • Proven success in grant writing and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with LGBTQAI+ and BIPOC communities.
  • Understanding of rural culture and advocacy needs.

Compensation:

  • Full-time, exempt position, with occasional evening and weekend hours.
  • Salary range to commensurate with experience.
