  • Does RN need to know how to read tele strips? Yes
  • Top diagnosis/procedures: Respiratory/ Renal
  • Common equipment used: Vent, CRRT NxStage, Echo, Aritic Sun, EV1000, PCA pumps
  • Does RN need to be able to titrate medication? Yes
  • Common medications given: Propofol, Precedex, Fentanyl, Cardizem, Digoxin, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Amiodarone, Norephinephrine, Vasopressin, Epinephrine, Phenylephrine

    Job Requirements
  • Required Skills:
  • Airway/Bipap/Airvo/Vent management
  • Vaso/cardiac/sedation drips-titration per MAR
  • EKG interpretation
  • Familiar with and care of Arterial line/Central line/Femoral lines
  • We do TTM with the Artic Sun/ CRRT with Next Stage/ IABP/ ECHO for PE
  • IV insertion
  • Blood draws
  • A-line management
  • CVP
  • IABP
  • Sheath removal
  • Cardioversion/defibrillation
  • Epicardial pacer management
  • Procedural sedation
  • CPAP/BiPAP
  • Ventilators
  • Trach Care
  • Rapid Infuser
  • Epidural/PCA pump
  • Feeding tubes
  • Continuous bladder irrigation
    Schedule Information
  • Shift: nights
  • Weekend: every other
    Unit Specific Information
  • Patient Population:
  • Medical ICU - Heavy respiratory patients/ Renal patients/Cardiac patient
  • Clinical Resource Nurse per shift- for both units – without patients
