Employment Details -

  • Lost Creek Ranch is a seasonal operation – while the season runs 6/8 – 9/13 you will be expected to arrive at least three weeks prior for training and a week in post-season to close the ranch for the winter. Please note, first preference is given to applicants who have limited to no special commitments during the season and can stay the entire time. It is difficult to train and house staff if early departures take place. Inevitably we hire a few collegiate early returners each year but strive to keep a consistent team throughout the season.
  • Pay includes room and board and 3 meals per day at no charge.
  • Staff earns an hourly wage and weekly tip pools are shared evenly across all departments – payroll is every other week and direct deposit is available.
  • Staff are also eligible for an end of season bonus – which requires staff to stay all season long and return their room in good shape.
  • Housing is dormitory in style. Each cabin contains a bunk and twin bed and likely three persons to a cabin. Private rooms are reserved for department heads, returning staff, and then made available to new staff. If you cannot live and work in tight quarters, do not apply.
  • All staff is expected to work 40 hours in their department or assisting another. You can expect 2 days off per week. Schedules are dependent upon which department you work within. All staff has Saturday night off.
  • We allow staff to use of the pool, gym, sauna, etc. and other ranch amenities including activities like horseback riding and float trips. (an unlimited monthly value)
  • We are a zero-tolerance property – We live and work together for 4+ months and expect staff to have good character, decision making and shared values.  We reserve the right to terminate staff same day for illicit behavior, drugs/alcohol abuse or lack of work attendance.
  • Pets are not allowed. This includes ADA service dogs due to the 85+ head of horses, cattle, wildlife, and shared staff housing with no dedicated pet area. General pets and emotional support pets are also not allowed (nor recognized by ADA).
