Our Ideal candidate has a deep understanding of engineering consulting (operations & technical), internal client strategy, experience in Bridge, Road, Infrastructure, Mining and/or field services projects and a proven background in leadership.

A Day in the Life
Leading an established local engineering team, the Civil Group lead will collaborate, listen and learning from our greater Grande Prairie & Allnorth team to determine the best path forward for growth and sustainability.
Additional key responsibilities include
- Personnel Management, evaluation and recruitment of personnel
- Acting as a technical expert
- Managing a team of engineers, designers and technicians, managing workload, prioritizing training
- Managing a variety of projects such as infrastructure upgrades and subdivision developments, including design and construction of water, sewer, drainage, and transportation infrastructure
- Provide technical guidance to a team of Professional Engineers, EITs and designers to deliver preliminary to detailed design drawings and specifications
- Carry out estimates of project costs, analysis and calculations, design review, preparation of reports, proposals, and contract documentation
- Maintain and develop business relationships with current and potential clients
- Interface directly with clients, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations to deliver projects across the Province / Country / North America
- Working with Civil Engineering (and other discipline) leads across Allnorth to further maintain and develop the practice at Allnorth to or beyond the industry standard.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Must be registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of Alberta
- 10+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering and project management
- Experience in municipal, land development and infrastructure projects.
- Strong project management, technical and analytical skills
- Strong communication / technical writing skills demonstrated through experience in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals
- Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; able to mentor and work with junior engineers and designers
- Good organization skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong decision making, ability to take action consistent with available facts, constraints and anticipated consequences.
