We are currently supporting our client, a leading organization in the mining and industrial sector, in their search for a Structural Engineer, Contract 6 months . This role is ideal for a professional with expertise in structural integrity, inspections, and design. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the structural integrity of critical infrastructure while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.

What are you going to do:

• Write technical scopes of work and develop work packages to address structural deficiencies.
• Design engineered repair plans for small-scale structural deficiencies.
• Conduct structural inspections, analyze findings, and provide comprehensive reports.
• Collaborate with Tradespeople, Supervisors, Planners, Engineers, Operations, and Project teams to address structural integrity matters.
• Ensure structural designs and installations meet industry codes, standards, specifications, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain compliance with Corporate Structural Integrity Guidance Documents.

Essential skills and knowledge:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer designation.
• Strong commitment to safety and safety leadership.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and structural analysis/design software such as STAAD Pro or SAP2000.
• Experience with 3D Modeling and Design Software is an asset.
• Prior experience in a potash mine, oil & gas, or industrial environment is considered an asset.

Work Schedule:

• A 9/80 schedule: Monday-Thursday one week, Monday-Friday the next week (Thursday of the short week ends at 3:00 PM). Typical hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
