About the role
The Business Solutions Manager (BSM) I.T. reports to the Director – Business Solutions. He/she manages all expectations of assigned business unit as well as aspects of a project, ensures projects delivery/timeline, quality, ensures that the project meets agreed upon scope and budget, follows-up during the various phases of the project; he/she must also organize meetings, and manage the documentation of the project including progress, post-mortem, and archiving.
The Business Solutions Manager I.T is also responsible for the uninterrupted availability and overall performance of Business Applications within their assigned Business unit.
How you will make an impact
- Organizing, managing, and controlling the Project and Support activities to effectively meet the needs of the business;
- Organizing the various meetings and conference calls related to status review and specific issues;
- Producing or obtaining all the deliverables of a project;
- Producing and maintaining the time-line of each project;
- Communicating with the Project team, Direction and Sponsors on the progress of the project;
- Providing leadership and support for Business Solutions Analyst;
- Preparing Project Charters, (periodical Status reports);
- Alerting the Direction and Sponsors on critical issues, or delays that could affect Business activities or Project deliverables;
- Coordinates and actively participates in all stages of project development including research, design, programming, testing and implementation;
- Coordinates changes of considerable consequences to the scope and schedule of the project;
- Actively pursues issue resolution and communicates project status/issues to the business stakeholders and operational management;
- Interfaces regularly with business unit managers/sponsors/champions to define project direction and system changes.
We’re looking for someone with
- University Degree in Information Technologies, or a minimum of five years of experience in Project Management in an I.T. department, is an asset.
- At least 7 years of experience managing IT Infrastructure projects.
- At least three years of experience in resource management in an I.T. environment is an asset
- 5 to 10 years of experience implementing PeopleSoft system solutions.
