Field Service Engineer

Montreal, QC


Our client, a medical device company specializing in diagnostics, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating activities related to the installation and maintenance of diagnostic instrumentation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency repair services, preventative maintenance, and updates at customer sites.
  • Track, schedule, and complete all preventive maintenance and updates for assigned analyzers.
  • Offer onsite and remote support for digital products, including installation and initial configuration of systems and related middleware.
  • Install instruments at customer facilities, product demonstrations, and trade shows to ensure full functionality.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of digital products to support sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures in all service-related tasks.
  • Maintain thorough records of repairs, work orders, and updates in compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues via phone or on-site visits, repairing or replacing parts as needed to ensure optimal operation of analyzers.
  • Provide end-user training on proper operation of instruments.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to expedite repairs and minimize downtime, contributing to customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and customers to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Manage company resources and equipment such as parts, tools, and inventory.
  • Escalate recurring or unresolved issues promptly to ensure timely resolution in accordance with SOPs.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Field Support Manager.
  • Provide application troubleshooting as needed.
  • Conduct basic on-site training on the use of company instruments.
  • Collaborate with various departments to improve internal processes and customer satisfaction.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing diagnostic equipment.
  • Technical certification or related degree from a recognized institution is preferred; a bachelor's degree in a related field is an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license and passport are required.
  • Ability to travel within and outside the designated territory as needed, with up to 75% overnight travel depending on the location. International travel, including visits to the corporate office, may also be required.
  • Fluency in both English and French is mandatory.
