Job description
We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer with expertise in the plastics mfg. industry. As a Quality Engineer, your role will involve ensuring product quality, implementing quality assurance measures, and driving continuous improvement. You will develop quality standards, conduct inspections, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and exceed customer expectations. Looking for strong ISO 9001 background at a minimum. A background in the medical industry is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement industry-specific quality standards and procedures.
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Analyze quality data and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Design and implement quality control plans, including inspection criteria and test methods.
- Monitor process performance using statistical techniques.
- Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
- Train employees on quality assurance principles and practices.
- Conduct supplier quality assessments and address quality-related issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in the extrusion or film industry.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and quality management systems.
- Strong understanding of extrusion or film manufacturing processes and requirements.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
