We are excited to share an exceptional opportunity with a leading medical device contract manufacturing organization (CMO) based in North Carolina. This innovative company is renowned for its commitment to client-focused solutions and cutting-edge product design. They are seeking an Associate Director of Research & Development with a strong foundation in project management to join their dynamic team.

Role Overview:

This multifaceted position blends project management expertise with R&D innovation, offering the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of medical device projects. From concept to production, you will lead cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions that align with client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage 10–15 concurrent projects with varying timelines ranging from six months to four years, focusing on design and production.
  • Lead a team of 11 professionals across production, process, and engineering disciplines.
  • Serve as a technical expert during client engagements and new business pitches, contributing to project wins with your expertise in R&D and product development.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and other departments to ensure seamless project execution and maintain a client-first approach.
  • Act as a key contributor in refining and implementing innovative solutions that meet stringent quality and regulatory standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the medical technology sector, particularly with ISO 13485 or 15378 compliance.
  • Proven leadership experience managing technical teams.
  • A strong background in project management and/or engineering design, with a focus on R&D.
  • Experience with polymers, pumps, molding, or single-use device technologies.
  • Prior exposure to contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) is highly desirable.

If you are driven by innovation, thrive in a collaborative environment, and have a passion for medical device development, this role offers the perfect platform for your expertise.
