Offering a continuum of care, the campus features a 200-bed skilled nursing facility with secure memory care and Adult Medical Day Services, adjacent to an assisted living community. A spacious, up-to-date therapy gym accommodates residential subacute rehabilitation and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy.nnJoin Our TeamnnJoin our strong and growing company today!nnEmployee Perks!nn401K Retirement Plan with Company Match, Dramatically Increased Wages!, Generous PTO & holiday package, Increased Wages, Life Insurance, Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, NEW Weekly Pay Schedule!nnResponsibilitiesnnDrivernnAbility to use hands and arms in repeated motions (opening manual passenger doors, steering the shuttle bus, securing wheelchair equipment, etc.).nnAbility to perform pre and post trip inspection duties that may require stooping, bending, and other similar range of motion activity.nnAbility to drive and work in all conditions including snow, ice, rain, and nighttime hours in a safe manner.nnAbility to carry and load baggage and medical equipment.nnAbility to physically load wheelchair clients and properly operate safety equipment including hydraulic lift.nnAbility to operate a full size cargo van and small shuttle bus.nnAbility to assist wheelchair bound and transit disabled passengers in and out of vans.nnPossession and maintenance of a medical certification card as required by DOT regulationsnnAbility to remain calm in stressful situations; tactful, diplomatic, and respectful treatment of all clients and passengers at all times.nnVision requirements include ability to see up close, at a distance, peripheral and depth perception and ability to focus.nnAbility to move and walk quickly and steadily in an emergency situation.nnAbility to assist with wheelchair transport.nnAbility to apply/utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.nnDrive responsibly and safely in order to ensure passenger safety and minimize damage or excessive wear and tear on facility vehicle; convey any mechanical problems identified with facility vehicle to the Transportation Services Coordinator as soon as possible.nnEnsure vehicle is in safe operating condition (e.g. fuel, wash, tires, and inspection); notify Transportation Services Coordinator when vehicle needs service.nnComply at all times with the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws, NYS regulations contained in Article 19A, (New York Facilities).nnComply with all State Vehicle and Traffic Laws.nnEnsure passengers are safely assisted and secured in the vehicle before departing for destination.nnEnsure safe transport of resident, personal belongings, and medical equipment to destination, as requested by resident.nnNotify family member or contact of new resident transfer.nnNotify the pick-up and destination location of the time of arrival.nnMaintain a clean, neat appearance as described in dress code for.nnAttends facility meetings, staff meetings, and required or preferred in-services.nnUtilizes electronic timekeeping system as directed.nnArrives to work on time, regularly, and works as scheduled.nnRecognizes and follows the dress code of the facility including wearing name tag at all times.nnFollows policy and procedure regarding all electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.nnSupports and abides by Elderwood’s Mission, Vision, and Values.nnAbides by Elderwood’s businesses code of conduct, compliance and HIPAA policies.nnPerforms other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff or Administrator.nnQualificationsnnDrivernnTwenty-one (21) years of age required; high school diploma or equivalency preferred.nnMinimum two (2) years of experience in a driving related position.nnValid state driver license with proper class/endorsement.nnMust be clean driving record with no violations (zero points) and no accidents in the previous 36 months. Any violation is subject to individual review and subject to termination or disqualification to drive on behalf of the Company.nnNew York Facilities: Initial and continuous compliance with Article 19-A of the New York Vehicle and Traffic Law, which includes among other things, investigation of prior employment, prior and ongoing driving record, penal law convictions and continually passing the medical examinations, required drug testing, vision and hearing tests required pursuant to New York State regulations.nnKnowledge of local roadways and directions, which encompass driving routes.nnKnowledge of fleet vehicles and all handicap equipment including operational and safety procedures.nnUnderstanding of the rights and needs of transit disabled passengers.nnEOE StatementnnWE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
