Overview:


More Than Words of Austin is seeking an experienced and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team on a contract basis. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality speech and language therapy services. Key Responsibilities:


- Therapy Implementation:

  - Execute individualized therapy plans as directed by the supervising SLP.

  - Conduct therapy sessions focused on improving speech, language, and communication skills.

  - Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques to engage clients and achieve treatment goals.


- Client Monitoring and Feedback:

  - Observe client progress during sessions and provide detailed feedback to the supervising SLP.

  - Encourage and support clients throughout the therapy process to maximize outcomes.

  - Adapt therapy activities in real-time based on client responses, with SLP oversight.


- Documentation and Compliance:

  - Accurately document therapy sessions, progress notes, and any changes in client performance.

  - Assist with the preparation of necessary reports and updates as required by the SLP.

  - Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.


- Material Preparation and Management:

  - Prepare and organize materials for therapy sessions to ensure a smooth and effective process.

  - Maintain therapy rooms and equipment, ensuring they are clean and ready for use.

  - Create and distribute home practice materials for clients and their families as needed.


- Collaboration and Professional Communication:

  - Collaborate closely with the supervising SLP and other team members to provide coordinated care.

  - Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and any required training sessions.

  - Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, families, and caregivers.


Qualifications:


- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant or a related field from an accredited program.

- Current Texas state license as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.

- Previous experience working with pediatric and/or adult populations is preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, under the supervision of an SLP.

- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
