Job Title: Part-Time Palliative Medicine On-Site Medical Director

Location: Inland Empire, California

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time Palliative Medicine On-Site Medical Director to join our team in the Inland Empire, California. This key leadership role will involve overseeing and guiding the delivery of palliative care services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care while managing the day-to-day operations of the palliative care program.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the palliative care team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and other interdisciplinary professionals.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care that addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients facing serious illness.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance in symptom management, end-of-life care, and decision-making.
  • Serve as a resource for healthcare providers, patients, and families on complex palliative care issues.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives related to palliative care services.
  • Educate staff, patients, and families about palliative care services, promoting its importance and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in on-site rounds, case conferences, and other meetings as required.


Requirements:

  • M.D. or D.O. with a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in California.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Palliative Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of clinical experience in palliative care or a related medical field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Knowledge of current palliative care guidelines, ethical issues, and legal aspects of end-of-life care.
  • Familiarity with the Inland Empire healthcare landscape is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fellowship training in Palliative Medicine.
  • Experience in an academic or leadership role.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.


Schedule:

  • Part-time, flexible hours (with a requirement for on-site presence as needed).
  • Occasional on-call availability may be required.
