Job Overview:

Are you looking for an administrative job transitioning out of clinical duties as a Physician? Check out this unique opportunity in the Inland Empire. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Advisor to join our team in the Inland Empire region of California. This is an onsite position that offers both full-time and part-time opportunities. The Physician Advisor will work closely with care management team, CDI team, medical staff, and clinical staff  to ensure high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective care delivery. The ideal candidate will be a California licensed physician with experience in clinical practice, medical management, or utilization review, and possess strong communication and collaboration skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilization Management : Review and assess the appropriateness of medical services, level of care, status determination, and other utilization metrics including admissions, procedures, and discharge planning. Ensure that care is provided in the most appropriate setting.
  • Multidisciplinary Rounds: Participates in and contributes to, the structure and efficiency of multidisciplinary rounds.
  • CDI: Working closely with the CDI team and providers on documentation, integrity, and capturing of DRGs
  • Clinical Education & Training : Provide ongoing education and support to medical staff on clinical pathways, evidence-based practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Discharge Planning : Support the development and execution of discharge plans, ensuring that patients transition smoothly from hospital to home or other care settings.
  • Peer-to-Peer Review : Participates in Peer-to-Peer discussions with providers and medical directors of health plans.
  • Quality Improvement : Collaborate with the quality improvement team to identify opportunities for improving patient outcomes, clinical efficiency, and safety.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the CMO .


Qualifications:

  • Education : MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensure : Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of California.
  • Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical practice experience; experience in utilization management, and quality improvement is required.
  • Skills & Competencies :
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems and utilization management tools.
  • Strong understanding of clinical care, medical guidelines, and healthcare policies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams and leadership.
