Controller Position Summary:

The Controller will oversee financial operations and contribute to the success of a growing national manufacturing and distribution company. Lead a small team of accountants to drive the accurate financial reporting, compliance and strategy of the operation. Working closely with operations and key business leaders to ensure strong financial management.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights to drive decision-making and strategy.
• Mentor and lead a team of three accounting professionals, fostering their growth and success.

Controller Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; CPA designation is a strong plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience some supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
• Proficiency in GAAP standards and fluency in Excel.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information for diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work onsite in the Birmingham, Alabama area.
