Summary

This opportunity is a hands-on, dual finance/operating role in a rapidly growing technology company. It will require you to switch frequently between tactical and strategic tasks. In a day-to-day role, you will perform and oversee resourcing payroll, invoicing, and vendor payments, ensuring cash flows and predictability. Simultaneously, in a strategic position, you will broadly anticipate, evaluate, and continually evolve an operating model primed for rapid scaling.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain financial planning rigor, including budgets and interim income and cash flow forecasts
  2. Provide financial analysis and decision support regarding new investments and business opportunities
  3. Oversee cash management and monitor cash management. Perform general accounting functions: semi-monthly payroll, recording journal entries/transactions, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliation activities, and variabile and commission compensation management
  4. Ensure a sound internal control environment, end-of-year taxes, audits, and other financial activities in compliance with state and federal laws.
  5. Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting and present results with insights to ownership and Board of Advisors.
  6. Review and negotiate vendor and service contracts. Manage relationships with banks, payroll, 401K third-party administrators, health insurance, and other such providers.
  7. Actively engage with the project delivery team and manage monthly billing forecasts, invoicing, and variance analysis. Determine process optimizations and implement them.
  8. Support HR & Talent function to ensure effective hiring, onboarding, and benefits management.
  9. Actively engage with sales and marketing to understand the sales pipeline and growth opportunities. Evolve operating and delivery processes to improve and ensure target profitability.
  10. Actively engage with India Engineering operations to forecast engineering resource allocation and monitor actual utilization through time-tracking monthly to ensure profitability.
  11. Develop a yearly budget and implement controls and policies.
  12. Implement and manage expense policies and processes.
  13. Implement internal data analytics dashboards for operations, finance, and other areas. Define, implement, and track key performance indicators for various organizational functions.
  14. Support related business functions, such as facilities management, procurement, contracts management, etc.


Education

Bachelor of Science, Business Adminisration (BSBA), or Finance

Preferred MBA and/or CPA


Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  1. 10+ years of experience in a lead financial and operations role.
  2. Hands-on experience in General Accounting Activities; PR, AR/Collections, AP, Billing, etc.
  3. Understanding software development required .
  4. Thorough understanding of software project profitability management, billing, pricing, and resource utilization in different engagement models (recurring, time and material, and fixed price models)
  5. Proven ability to implement quality assurance measures into financial operations
  6. Private equity and M&A experience is a plus.
  7. Works independently with the broader team on various operational/financial aspects.
  8. Hands-on experience with at least one billing or ERP system.
  9. Track record for meeting deadlines
  10. Aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements
  11. Proficient in using Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications
  12. Exceptional planning, organizational skills, and comfort with handling new tools and software applications.
  13. Must have strong verbal skills and presentation skills.
  14. A team player with excellent communication and interaction skills with CoStrategix Engineering teams.
  15. Must be flexible with working hours.
  16. You must live in the greater Cincinnati or N.Kentucky area.
