The Surgical Technician functions as a member of the surgical team to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Collaborates with the team to ensure that the operative room environment is safe, that instrumentation functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Proficient in the role of scrubbing and assisting in the operating room.

Responsibilities
n
n - Perform scrub, assist, and circulate functions for surgical procedures.
n - Support activities in the Pain Clinic, Sterile Processing, and other peri-operative settings.
n - Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a safe and efficient OR environment.
n - Carry out duties as assigned by the OR Manager to meet the needs of the department and patients.

Qualifications
n
n - High school diploma or GED
n - Prior experience in the surgical healthcare field, required
n - Previous experience assisting and scrubbing in surgical field, required
n - Ability to read, write and speak English
n - Basic Life Support certification
