About the client:
Our client is a successful paving contractor offering and installing eco-friendly products and solutions for residential and commercial projects in British Columbia. To take to company to the next level, they are looking for an ambitious, motivated Sales Manager to lead and grow their existing sales team while developing new markets and territories.
The position will be based in Coquitlam, BC. Option for a flexible schedule and hybrid model after the initial probation period.
Responsibilities:
- Sets and approves sales targets and pricing guidelines in coordination with the leadership team.
- Approves sales and trade show expenditures for business development purposes and while staying within budget.
- Expedites preparation and installation in coordination with the Operations Manager, as needed with key clients.
- Responsible for supporting daily sales and the company’s overall strategy, including growth and transformational initiatives.
- Develops and executes action plans to achieve strategic goals.
- Establishes policies that promote company culture and vision.
- Sets annual, quarterly, monthly goals.
- Trains the sales team to deliver exceptional customer service to clients by way of sales excellence.
- Engages in conflict resolution and works with managers, staff, suppliers and clients to resolve issues.
- Works with the leadership team to enhance interdepartmental collaboration and minimize roadblocks in the customer journey.
- Develops the annual sales targets and manages the sales funnel to achieve them.
- Develops plans and delivers training on both sales skills and product knowledge.
- Builds and leads a high performing sales team to achieve sales goals, encourages collaboration amongst staff and leads by example.
- Recruits, hires, and onboards all direct/indirect reports as needed. Motivates and disciplines (including termination) as needed.
- Oversees the implementation and ongoing management of sales-related software, including tracking spreadsheets and CRM software.
- Acts as the Corporate Sales Representative, developing key relationships with corporate clients.
- Works with staff to develop marketing materials and presentations and makes presentations to clients.
- Researches, evaluates and approves all regularly attended and newly upcoming trade shows and sales events.
- Responds to client inquiries in a timely manner (estimates, quotes, issues, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary degree in a relevant field (business, marketing, management, etc.).
- 3+ years of practical hands-on leadership experience managing sales teams
- 7+ years of sales or marketing experience in a small business or high growth sector.
- Proven track record of building sales teams and setting effective sales targets.
- Experience building and adapting defined systems, processes, and procedures.
- Experience in the construction, landscaping or home improvement industries is preferred.
- Sales-focused and customer-oriented leader with demonstrated success in high- quality, production and service environments.
- Expert persuasion skills. Ability to quantitatively and qualitatively analyse and design solutions to marketing and sales challenges.
- Advanced proficiency in computer productivity software programs including Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and other applications.
- Proficiency with CRM systems.
- Excellent communications skills in written and spoken English.
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Adaptable to changing priorities in a high paced work environment.
Compensation:
- $90,000 – 120,000 base salary (negotiable depending on experience) plus incentive plan.
