Our client has been in business for over 40 years, recognized as one of Canada's foremost master distributors, specializing in electrical, electronic data, wire cable accessories and telecom. They are looking for a Sales Manager in Mississauga, Ontario.
Responsibilities:
Sales Plan Execution
- Establish and implement short-, mid-, and long-term sales plans for the Western Region.
- Focus on achieving product category growth, market growth, and customer growth within each plan.
- Cultivate and develop the territory to manage and maximize profitability.
- Identify and capitalize on unrealized expansion opportunities through existing and potential customers and products.
- Regularly review market and industry trends to anticipate changes in pricing, competition, and regulations.
- Enhance profitability by systematically controlling costs and expenses.
Customer Relationship Development
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers in the Ontario Region.
- Meet regularly with accounts to assess their needs and identify support opportunities for their business growth.
- Introduce sales team members to relevant customer contacts to build relationships at all organizational levels.
Sales Team Management & Development
- Identify, attract, develop, motivate, and retain top talent for the sales team.
- Coordinate with operations and purchasing personnel for order entry.
- Provide pricing quotations and follow up as necessary.
- Administer the opening of new accounts and manage existing customer-account databases.
- Oversee proper administration of freight claims and reel returns.
- Ensure compliance with the Standard Practice Instruction (SPI) Manual.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior consistent with company values.
- Offer backup support to the sales department when needed.
- Communicate promptly with Senior Management regarding market and business issues and opportunities.
- Stay updated with continuing education in sales strategies and account management principles.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of sales experience
- Leadership/team management experience
- Electrical or related industry knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing, preferred but not necessary.
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong relationship building experience
