Job Title

District Sales Manager – location - Montreal


Job Purpose

The District Sales Manager will lead and develop their sales team to achieve both district sales and profit goals.

Key Accountabilities:

Lead, coach, develop, and inspire sales employees in the field.

Take ownership for holding the sales team accountable to effectively manage revenue and profitability through developing and retaining existing accounts – increasing share of wallet.

Maximize sales growth through building a high-performance culture and ensuring each sales representative is prospecting, securing, and developing new accounts.

Establish influential relationships with customers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders that drive results.

Commercially and creatively minded to successfully close big deals.

Lead and develop a decisive, customer-focused sales strategy for assigned territory.

Assist in building and maintaining customer and supplier relationships; act as point of escalation.

Participate with Sales Reps on customer wellness calls with key accounts.

Effectively and proactively engage with internal partners in Supply Chain, Sourcing, Operations, and Studio 111, among other service divisions.

Ensure proper management of resources and assets, including inventory, ware, quality issues, A/R collection, and margin management.

Consistently acquire new business by utilizing Salesforce and marketing tools effectively.

Clearly articulate company’s ability to increase sales, reduce costs, and improve productivity.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

10+ years of successful and progressive industrial sales experience or similar experience in a business-to-business environment involving complex, relationship-based transactions.

Demonstrated success managing a team of sales professionals to achieve goals.

Ability to train and develop new sales reps in consultative sales and ensure existing sales reps grow and maximize sales.

  • Strong business and financial acumen; demonstrates subject matter expertise of company’s business, products, customers, and suppliers.
  • Results oriented; has passion for building winning teams, developing talent, and contributing to a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills; can influence without authority and partner across functions.
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills.
