ALTEN Canada is seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain data models, reports, and dashboards that drive decision-making and enhance business productivity. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide actionable insights, and ensure data security while leveraging advanced Power BI capabilities to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create interactive and visually compelling Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Develop data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights.
- Write and optimize DAX expressions for calculated measures and KPIs.
- Preprocess, clean, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine data requirements for tailored solutions.
- Build intuitive visualizations that effectively communicate key metrics and business insights.
- Present actionable insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior developers in Power BI best practices and advanced techniques.
- Implement and manage row-level security (RLS) and understand Power BI’s application security layer models.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance Power BI solutions to improve performance and scalability.
- Stay updated on Power BI advancements, industry trends, and best practices.
- Provide guidance on data visualization and modeling improvements.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience in developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
- Proficiency in DAX expressions and advanced Power BI features.
- Strong understanding of row-level security (RLS) implementation in Power BI.
- Experience in analyzing and visualizing financial or supply chain data.
- Knowledge of data governance and secure data practices.
- Certification in PL-300 (Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst) or equivalent.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing Power BI solutions.
- Familiarity with advanced BI tools and systems.
- Strong background in financial or supply chain reporting and analytics.
