Job Overview:
Fe Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide mental health counseling and therapeutic services to patients in our multi-specialty clinic. The LMHC will work with individuals experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, helping them develop coping mechanisms, improve mental well-being, and manage ongoing conditions. This role is integral to our mission of delivering holistic healthcare services in a professional and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions to clients facing mental health issues.
- Conduct initial patient assessments, including psychological evaluations and treatment planning.
- Deliver evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT, DBT, mindfulness) tailored to client needs.
- Maintain detailed and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including primary care physicians, psychiatrists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Offer crisis intervention and immediate support in emergency situations.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and state regulations for mental health counseling.
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews to coordinate care and ensure best outcomes for patients.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Licensed as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience providing therapeutic services in a clinical setting.
- Proficient in a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- CPR/BLS certification preferred.
