The Chief Operating Officer helps organize and re-strategize company goals within the administrative departments and functions while continuing to build and maintain relationships with current and future clients. This position encompasses a wide range of activities with involvement in all phases of administration, personnel, finance, facilities, and marketing. The Chief Operating Officer works closely with the Managing Partner on Firm-wide policy setting, problem solving and decision making. This person is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the day-to-day operations of the Firm, and for directing the implementation of Firm policies as well as strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the partners.
- Support and restructure administrative teams to ensure proper operating functions are being met with efficiency and tact.
- Lead and assist with recruiting efforts to ensure top talent is being brought forward to the team.
- Work collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the firm and ensure excellent client service.
- Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company with the ability to present on those topics to stakeholders.
- Monitor performance with tracking software and take corrective measures when necessary; prepare detailed updates and forecasts.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to employees on several teams (i.e. admin, IT, HR, etc.).
- Oversee Administration, HR, recruiting and business accounting functions.
- Establish policies that promote company culture and vision. Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
- Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met.
- Manage expenses and cash flow while handling appropriate reporting.
You must have:
- 8+ years of experience in executive leadership roles.
- BS/BA in Business Administration (specialize in Finance or Management) or related field.
- Proficiency in Windows/Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to collaborate well with other teams and take constructive criticism.
