Position: Production Chemist

Location: San Diego, California

Salary: $54,000 - $66,000 per year

Job Summary: Join a distinguished team in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector located in San Diego as a Production Chemist. You will focus on ensuring the precision and quality of our chemical production processes, from the handling of raw materials to the verification of the final product, strictly adhering to operational protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage reactor systems to ensure proper operation.
• Precisely measure and mix ingredients as per the Batch Production Records.
• Manage the dispensing and synthesis processes, maintaining compliance with pharmaceutical storage guidelines.
• Observe and tweak chemical reactions during processing to secure desired results.
• Carry out critical chemical processing and purification steps, including HPLC operations.
• Oversee lyophilization and other drying processes according to standardized procedures.
• Execute quality control evaluations during production phases and report findings effectively.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and housekeeping within all operational areas.
• Promptly identify and report any equipment malfunctions to ensure continuous production capability.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a similar field.
• At least one year of experience in a cGMP-compliant pharmaceutical or biotechnological laboratory.
• Skilled in the Microsoft Office suite, with exceptional technical writing capabilities.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and adjust to varying priorities.
