An established, multi-billion manufacturing supplier is actively seeking a Purchasing Manager to add to their growing group. This organization is the industry leader in their respective product line and has been growing rapidly for the last decade. This person will be responsible for directing, developing, and maintaining an effective procurement strategy, and the associated processes and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Leads, plans, and directs the work for the assigned Buyer group.
• Acts as a focal point for efforts to reduce the total cost of ownership for production materials, services, and supplies in support our related customer initiatives
• Develops department processes and procedures, and conducts training for department personnel
• Formulates purchasing strategies for various commodities
• Reviews and approves RFQ’s to suppliers for new and existing materials and services
• Conducts preliminary reviews of pending purchases, purchasing contracts, and related contractual documents to verify adherence to current processes and procedures
• Reviews and approves Purchase Orders to suppliers for new and existing materials and services
• Gathers, analyzes, and tracks key market information and trends
• Develops and manages ongoing relationships with suppliers
• Evaluates and monitors vendor performance, and recommends or takes corrective actions, as required
• Identifies new potential domestic and global suppliers
• Assesses materials and products, and arranges to move products
• Provides assistance and customer service to external vendors or contractors
• Leads problem-solving activities with suppliers, and establishes continuous improvement targets

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related discipline
• 4 to 10 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related function
