Job Description
  • Basic Requirements: AA degree, electronics school certification, or equivalent military training and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as a technician in SATCOM/Terrestrial environment with LAN/WAN industry standards, working knowledge of TCP/IP, and Ethernet configuration and functionality desirable.


  • Preferred Qualifications: Industry certifications are a plus (Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Cisco, CompTIA, and ITIL).
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux systems desirable.
  • Flexible to work varying shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or a mixed) in a high stress environment.
  • Basic electronics troubleshooting skills desirable (ability to use and interpret readings from a range of test equipment including spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, protocol analyzer, power meter, Fiber test sets, etc.).
  • Knowledge of satellite technology and terrestrial technology (i.e. DSL, WIFI, Cable)
  • Experience with Cisco, HNS, CATV/IPTV and other Telco and IP protocol core network and equipment


  • Essential Qualifications: Candidate must be able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Climb ladders to heights of up to 20 feet.
  • Work with hands and arms above their head for an extended period of time.
  • Carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work repetitive tasks like installing/deinstalling cables/equipment.
  • Have the dexterity to terminate various types of cabling (i.e. CAT6/6A, coaxial cable, fiber cable) with precision.
  • Assume responsibility for escalation and emergency response requests in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment. Occasional work is required during maintenance windows, outside of normal working hours
