Position Title: Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Compensation: $120-160k + Performance-Based Bonuses
Overview: One of Insight Global's clients is looking for a dynamic Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager with a strong focus on business development to join their Austin, Texas office. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding their client base, driving revenue growth, and developing the company's geotechnical division. - Oversee field geotechnical studies and manage a light project load while focusing heavily on business development.
- Supervise geotechnical drilling and lab operations, ensuring compliance and safety.
- Mentor junior staff and participate in local organizations.
- Handle client relations, project management, and technical support, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, particularly in Texas. Bring a book of business and demonstrate the ability to significantly grow client revenue.
- Client Relations: Build and sustain strong client relationships. Ensure client satisfaction and repeat business through excellent service delivery.
- Division Growth: Lead efforts to expand the geotechnical division. Develop strategies to increase market share and revenue.
- Project Management: Oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring they meet client and company requirements for safety, budget, quality, and schedule.
- Field Supervision: Safely supervise field exploration, sampling, inspection, and analysis. Provide technical support and ensure compliance and safety.
- Mentorship: Mentor and manage junior staff and project-level geotechnical professionals, guiding them through project performance.
- Scope Development: Develop scopes for both field and office tasks, including technical and non-technical aspects. Conduct independent analysis.
- Coordination: Coordinate tasks and manage medium to large multi-disciplined projects with guidance from senior operations/technical staff.
- Design and Reporting: Prepare or review designs, reports, and calculations for complex projects.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Materials Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred, but equivalent industry experience is also acceptable.
- Over 8 years of relevant experience.
- Must hold a Texas Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Demonstrated success in business development, especially within larger firms, with a proven track record of increasing client revenue and securing new business.
- A positive work attitude with the ability to work safely and efficiently while juggling multiple tasks.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to mentor and manage junior staff.
- Experience in field geotechnical studies and business development.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with geotechnical drilling and lab supervision.
- Familiarity with GINT software for logging.
- Experience in the solar industry is a plus.
