Associate General Counsel

Our client, a global leader in the health and wellness industry, is searching for a driven, talented and highly organized Associate General Counsel to work in a dynamic, collaborative and extremely fast-paced environment.
The Associate General Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel and play a critical role within the growing legal division – providing strategic advice to cross-functional leadership teams, assisting with high-volume, product-related compliance matters, and overseeing the creation, review and negotiation for a variety of complex contracts, both international and domestic.
The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have prior law firm (or in-house counsel) experience within consumer products, ecommerce and/or the global manufacturing industry as well as exposure to legal matters such as regulatory compliance, contract management and IP/ trademark.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with internal and external counsel to ensure ongoing compliance with both state and federal laws impacting or influencing all related business operations.
- Provide timely guidance and advise to leadership teams, business partners and affiliated clients, utilizing exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
- Employ exceptional multi-tasking skills while working on a wide variety of time sensitive matters; including, but not limited to: product label review, contract management and negotiation, IP/ trademark activities, and occasionally, litigation and dispute resolution.
- Draft, review, edit and approve a diverse array of manufacturing agreements, vendor agreements, marketing/ influencer agreements and trademark licensing agreements.
- Remain up to date on all changes with industry-related laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) Degree.
- Active membership and in good standing with the Utah State Bar.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on legal experience, within a law firm or corporate in-house legal department.
- Prior experience working within the industries of consumer products, ecommerce, and/ or global manufacturing, strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with corporate legal matters, contract management and compliance.
- Familiarity with laws and regulations related to the consumer products industry, ideal.
- Must have exceptional communication skills, the ability to think critically, and work well within a highly collaborative, deadline-driven and hard-working environment.
