Position type: Direct hire

Shift: 1st (7:30am - 5:15pm)

Salary range: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 (based on experience) plus a 10% annual bonus.

Position Summary:

The Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the companies' daily operations and will be responsible for overseeing various operational activities to meet company goals and objectives. The primary focus will be on optimizing processes, managing resources, adhering to budgets, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the operations team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a hands-on approach to problem solving.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of operations staff, including supervisors, leads, and warehouse associates, to ensure optimal performance and a positive work environment throughout the distribution center
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to help individuals develop their skills and capabilities through quarterly check-ins and yearly reviews
  • Ensure Leadership staff is trained and compliant on all SOP’s and compliance guidelines at the customer level, reducing chargeback occurrences
  • Synchronizes customer release schedules to operational resources to ensure timely execution that meet KPI targets
  • Oversee the on-time and accurate receipt/shipping of goods on a day-to-day basis according to various specifications and vendor compliance rules, as directed by our customers and vendors
  • Communicate and resolve potential order and inventory issues quickly by working with other departments like IT, Sales, Inventory, and Customer Service
  • Monitor order volume and product mix through multiple warehouse management system (WMS, HJ, and cIMS) across multiple departments within the organization
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and drive operational excellence throughout the entire DC


Skills & Critical Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5 + years Operations & Management/Supervisorial experience within a warehouse & distribution environment
  • 5 + years of Distribution experience
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Proficient computer skills working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Warehouse Management Systems
  • Proven record of driving process accuracy through effective operations processes and controls
  • Proficient in working with Supply Chain Partners to manage and enhance the flow of product and information between vendors, internal teams, and customers
  • Experience in developing, implementing, executing quality performance standards with proven quality/order accuracy result
  • A proven track record of reducing costs and improving efficiencies
  • Strong/effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Team player with strong financial acumen and proven results in meeting/exceeding team-based performance goals based on safety, quality, speed, and operating expenses
  • Ability to be comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on management environment
  • Must be fully available during the peak season/holiday period from October through December. Available to work holidays and weekends.


Additional Technical Skills (Preferred):

  • Direct to store or E-commerce experience/background desired.
  • Experience managing high value and high-volume freight.
  • Knowledge with SCAC Codes (standard carrier alpha code), used for freight carriers) bills of laden, advanced shipping notices (ASN) and route guides/shipping requirements for major retailers.
  • Experience with warehouse or transportation management systems.
  • Print and apply; and automation experience would be helpful.
  • High Jump Software or cIMS experience is a plus, not required.
