Job Purpose

The Head of Event Sales is responsible for driving event sales through proactive prospecting, cultivating corporate and social connections, and managing leads. This role involves nurturing preexisting relationships while converting incoming inquiries into successfully booked events that exceed client expectations.


Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative event sales strategies to maximize revenue and market share.
  • Book events in-line with quarterly goals.
  • Make strategic decisions and adjustments throughout the year to help achieve the overall events budget.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of events, ensuring each occasion is flawlessly executed and exceeds client expectations.
  • Manage event budgets, contracts, and timelines, ensuring profitability and adherence to client specifications while maintaining Harbour Club’s luxury standards.
  • Work closely with other departments, including marketing, operations, and culinary, to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, event planners, vendors and local businesses to ensure repeat business and successful event partnerships
  • Proactively prospect and secure new corporate and social event business opportunities.
  • Leverage local market knowledge to identify event opportunities and establish a competitive presence.
  • Build strong relationships by participating in community organizations and attending networking events, trade shows, and expos regularly


Experience Required

This role requires exceptional organizational skills, creative problem-solving and the ability to build strong client relationships while delivering high-end, personalized event experiences.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in luxury event sales, with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Tripleseat.
  • Strong understanding of event planning, particularly social and corporate events.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
