Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Estimator . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating ground up commercial projects at a general contractor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts effectively.


Responsibilities:

Estimating and Cost Analysis:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of costs and prices.

Vendor Outreach and Management:

  • Identify and reach out to potential vendors and subcontractors for project needs.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, ensuring they meet project specifications and budget constraints.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.

Contract Negotiation:

  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Ensure all contracts are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Address and resolve any contract-related issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.

Client Interaction:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding estimating and cost-related inquiries.
  • Present cost estimates and project proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner.
  • Address client concerns and provide ongoing support throughout the project.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate estimates and successful project execution.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide input on cost-related matters.
  • Support the project team in achieving project goals and meeting deadlines.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports, including cost analysis, bid summaries, and project progress.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and financial forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • MUST HAVE experience estimating ground up commercial projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost structures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
