Role Overview
A leading energy provider is seeking a Helpdesk Specialist I to join its IT team in Denver, Colorado. This role focuses on providing Level 2 helpdesk support, specifically as part of a PC refresh project. The selected candidate will replace outdated hardware with pre-configured devices, support end-users during the transition, and ensure minimal disruption to operations. The role involves both office and power plant environments and requires travel across the Denver metro area.
Responsibilities
- Replace outdated hardware with new, pre-configured devices across various metro-area locations.
- Coordinate and schedule device refreshes with end users.
- Perform minimal software installations as required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues post-deployment, escalating to the Deskside Support team if needed.
- Collaborate with a fellow technician to prepare and deploy equipment while managing the return of old devices.
- Manage and track tickets using ServiceNow.
- Travel to office and power plant locations as part of the project schedule, targeting 35-40 device refreshes per month.
- Maintain, develop, and support personal computers, servers, and local/wide area networks.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Technical Skills :
- Proficiency in Windows 11 and general peripherals.
- Experience with ServiceNow for ticket management.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Azure AD for user/device management.
- Basic PowerShell scripting skills.
Non-Technical Skills :
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Experience :
- 2-3 years of experience in a Helpdesk or IT support role.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (travel required).
- Previous experience working independently in diverse environments.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Familiarity with power plant operations (not required).
