Financial Analyst

Hybrid in Allentown, PA

Pay: $58,000 - $65,000


The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting financial analysis, cost management, and reporting for the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of job costing, trend and variance analysis, labor costs, and revenue analysis in the context of environmental projects and services. The analyst will collaborate with various departments to provide actionable insights, ensure financial controls, and optimize cost efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze costs associated with environmental projects and services.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed job cost reports, ensuring accurate allocation of direct and indirect costs.
  • Assist project managers in tracking project budgets and ensuring cost control throughout the lifecycle.
  • Provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency on ongoing and future projects.
  • Conduct regular trend analysis to evaluate financial performance over time.
  • Prepare variance analysis reports comparing actual performance to budgeted or forecasted results.
  • Investigate variances and identify root causes, providing actionable insights to management.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Present financial data to management, highlighting key trends and variances, with actionable recommendations.
  • Track and analyze revenue streams from various environmental services and projects.
  • Work with the sales and operations teams to understand pricing strategies, contract structures, and revenue recognition.
  • Monitor and report on revenue trends and suggest opportunities for revenue growth or efficiency.
  • Analyze labor costs, including wages, benefits, and overtime, in relation to project profitability.
  • Monitor labor utilization and recommend strategies to optimize labor costs for both short-term and long-term projects.
  • Work with HR and operations teams to ensure labor cost controls are in place.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts for the organization and individual departments.
  • Track financial performance against the budget and provide regular updates on variances.
  • Conduct special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required by senior management.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, capital expenditures, and their potential financial impact.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
  • 2 - 3 years' financial analysis experience
  • Advanced Excel
