MATERIALS PLANNER / SCHEDULER - JACKSON, MICHIGAN


A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Jackson, Michigan area needs a 1st Shift Materials Planner / Scheduler. SAP Experience is Required for this Position. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


To ensure on time delivery of parts to the customers and maintain accuracy of customer release forecasts, production, and shipping schedules.

  • Send weekly EDI releases to all vendors
  • Create and execute a cycle count schedule
  • Schedule carriers for pick up and delivery based on vendor schedules
  • Schedule all production to meet customer releases
  • Ensure finished good inventory is consistent to meet customer delivery schedules
  • Inform suppliers of any discrepancies and issue DMN’s as required
  • Set up CSAs, CMIRs, Customer Packaging Instructions in SAP
  • Cover Shipping Supervisor for absence and vacation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Department Manager
  • Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities
  • Advise management of any potential problems or concerns and any opportunities for improvement
  • Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable
  • Will work in compliance with all legislative requirements of MIOSHA
  • Work in compliance and conform to Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • SAP Experience is Required
  • Proven experience in:
  • Production Planning & Scheduling in the Automotive Industry
  • Experience in Inventory Control
  • Experience with Shipping / Receiving
  • Solid knowledge of MRP Systems and Computers
  • Excellent English communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Able to successfully interact with all levels of employees in the organization
  • Strong problem-solving techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • A valid Forklift license would be an asset, but training can be provided
  • Must have no restrictions regarding travel to Canada (training will take place in Toronto area office)
