Talent Acquisition Specialist
- Source, interview, and recommend qualified candidates to fill permanent and temporary positions in a timely and cost-effective manner; assess candidate qualifications based on behavioral interviews, job requirements, and pre-employment testing results
- Partner with Hiring Managers to understand departmental needs and proper qualifications of candidates; screen and provide a pipeline of quality candidates for selection
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures relating to internal promotions and transfers
- Record all recruitment and hiring activity in Applicant Tracking System for information retention and reports
- Assist Talent Acquisition team with sourcing, screening, scheduling internal /external candidates and completing background/employment reference checks.
- Review completed employment applications for accuracy and completion; and set up online assessments for job candidates; respond and resolve job candidate questions regarding testing and other issues that may arise during testing sessions
- Handle new hire paperwork processing, verifying proper completion of forms, ensuring acceptable documents and identification are provided, and follow up with new hires regarding missing documents and/or forms
- Provide regular updates on position status to Hiring Managers, agencies, and job candidates; schedule interviews, conduct background checks, and extend verbal/written job offers
- Perform additional duties and projects as directed by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, Business Administration, or relevant major required
- Minimum two (2) years recruiting experience to include sourcing, interviewing, and assessing job applicants required; experience recruiting temporary and seasonal positions highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral interviewing techniques and effective sourcing strategies
- Must have experience working in a Human Resources department, experience working in a Union environment a plus
- Ability to develop and cultivate effective working relationships with all levels of staff, Hiring Managers, and outside vendors i.e. Search Firms, and temporary agencies
- Experience working with applicant tracking systems (i.e Taleo) highly preferred
- Professional appearance and excellent oral/written communication skills a must to accurately and professionally communicate with management, applicants, and employees
- Good critical thinking capabilities; ability to perform complex analysis and identify trends
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle competing priorities
