Job Title: Social Worker – Adult Behavioral Health Therapist
Location: Southgate, MI
Shift: Monday-Thursday (8:30 AM - 7:00 PM), Friday (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join the Adult Behavioral Health team. The therapist will manage a caseload of clients with primary mental health and/or co-occurring substance use diagnoses, providing therapy, conducting assessments, and coordinating care. This role is ideal for someone passionate about improving the well-being of adults and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical services, including intake evaluations and direct treatment for individuals and families.
- Assess and document client needs using person-centered planning principles.
- Provide individual and group therapy.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, schools, and other support personnel to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain compliance with all licensure and contractual requirements.
- Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.
- Complete clinical records and documentation in a timely manner.
- Uphold a professional code of ethics and cultural competency standards.
- Facilitate effective discharge planning for case closures.
- Complete 24 hours of training in treating adults with mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
Licensure:
- Must hold or obtain a Michigan state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP) within 60 days of hire. An extension of up to 60 days may be granted at the employer’s discretion.
- Licenses must remain active and free from disciplinary actions throughout employment.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience (including fieldwork or internships) treating individuals diagnosed with mental illness.
- Must obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credentials within 120 days of hire.
Skills:
- Ability to work independently and maintain therapeutic relationships.
- Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Cultural competency and flexibility in working with diverse populations.

- Travel: Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use at IRS standards ($0.64 per mile).

About the Role:
This position involves managing a caseload of approximately 50 active cases and working as part of a large multidisciplinary team. Evening hours may be required based on program needs.
