CVL Engineers is a professional engineering firm headquartered in Edmonton. We offer a wide range of civil & structural consulting, and design services related to residential, commercial, and infrastructure. Right now, we are looking for a full-time civil/structural engineer to join our Edmonton team. While what you know is an asset, we are more concerned with you being a good fit. We want someone who fits with our band of misfit toys.

Responsibilities (the technical bit)

• Perform engineering design and analysis of various structures, from preliminary to final stages, including having to face the music in the field if it doesn't work.
• Knowledge and experience of precast concrete, traditional concrete, steel, and timber design. Plus whatever other weird and cool stuff we can think up.
• Provide sketches for CAD designers and review CAD drawings
• Visualize and create the necessary details pertinent to the development of design plans and shop drawings for various products.
• Prepare construction specifications.
• Write boring technical reports and calculation packages.
• Conduct inspections of project sites and prepare detailed reports.
• Liaise with customers during design and construction.
• Assist & lead mentorship for EITs and junior personnel.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in engineering and design.
• Experience with Structural analysis using software. (e.g. S-Frame, etc)
• Possession of a Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation in a Canadian Province or Territory is required.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and own vehicle
