Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Reception and Check-In:
- Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival.
- Verify and update patient information in the system.
- Collect co-pays and provide receipts.
- Scheduling and Appointments:
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Manage the provider's calendar to ensure optimal scheduling.
- Notify patients of any changes to their appointments.
- Communication:
- Answer phone calls promptly and professionally.
- Provide information to patients regarding office policies, procedures, and services.
- Relay messages between patients and medical staff accurately.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and other communications.
- Process insurance verification and authorizations as needed.
- Office Support:
- Keep the reception area clean and organized.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management.
- Provide support to other staff members as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical office or receptionist role preferred.
- Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, scheduling systems).
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus.
