Vice President of Business Development - U.S.

About the Role We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Business Development to lead global business development initiatives in the oncology and cell therapy sector. This role requires a visionary leader who can source, structure, and drive impactful transactions, working closely with cross-functional teams to align business strategies with organizational goals. The position is remote and U.S.-based.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, evaluate, and secure partnerships that align with the company's growth objectives.

  • Collaborate with R&D and Business Development teams to design customized partnering structures for each collaboration.

  • Synthesize complex information to facilitate decision-making by senior leadership.

  • Proactively monitor industry trends, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base of licensing transactions and competitive activities.

  • Lead high-profile, cross-functional teams to evaluate risks and opportunities, presenting findings to senior management in a clear and actionable manner.

  • Prioritize and pursue the most promising partnering opportunities, making decisive and strategic choices.

  • Oversee scientific and strategic assessments, as well as cross-functional due diligence reviews, to ensure successful partnership outcomes.

  • Design deal structures and lead contract negotiations with prospective partners.

  • Expand and leverage a robust academic and industry network to identify high-value partnership opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MD, PhD, or equivalent) from a top-tier institution with a strong academic record.

  • 10+ years of business development experience in the life sciences industry, with a proven track record of successful, high-impact transactions.

  • Strategic consulting experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive business decisions, and manage multiple complex projects across diverse regions and functions.

  • Deep understanding of research, development, and commercialization processes within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Expertise in oncology, immunology, or related therapeutic areas.

  • Strong business acumen with proficiency in business analytics and valuation methodologies.

  • Excellent presentation skills, including experience delivering talks at scientific conferences.

  • Exceptional influencing and negotiation abilities, with a history of achieving favorable outcomes.

  • Passionate, results-oriented, and strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills.

Location: Remote (U.S.-based).
