We are a full-service Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering consulting firm with offices in Dallas and Houston. Founded in 2000's, the firm specializes in the design of MEP systems for K-12 school districts, colleges, universities, and other educational support facilities.


Supervisor

Senior Electrical Team Leader/Electrical Engineer


Purpose

To serve as a member of Firm's electrical design team and to assist the team in production of high-quality contract documents for the firm’s clients, ensuring that the process fulfills the Firm's vision and mission


Essential Duties and Functions

Serve as a member of Firm's electrical team for the design of electrical systems for client projects as assigned including:

•Perform engineering calculations and apply engineering principles to assist in the successful

design, creation, and delivery of all electrical AutoCAD and Revit drawings for each client

project with no supervision

•Write, edit, and produce the accompanying specifications for each client project with no supervision

•Review and approve shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, addendums, and other construction documents as assigned for electrical-related items with no supervision

•Conduct field work and complete field reports on electrical-related items to verify design with no supervision

•Supervise and mentor interns, designers and EITs in the development of electrical systems

for client projects

•Seal final contract documents as assigned

•Expert knowledge of all required building codes

•Expert knowledge of firm's design standards and processes

•Excellent knowledge of client design standards

•Proficient in lighting and lighting controls

•Proficient in fire alarm systems

•Proficient in power and power distribution systems, including emergency power

•Excellent knowledge of technology systems

•Ability to design and manage multiple projects from start to finish with no supervision

•Excellent knowledge of firm's mission and vision; business leadership roles

•Excellent knowledge of client mission and goals

•Ability to translate technical expertise and soft skills into business development goals

•Attendance at client events

•Working knowledge of business basics

•Adaptable and open to learning new technologies and methodologies to stay in the forefront of electrical engineering advancements

•Participate and/or lead client meetings as assigned

•Participate in career development training



Required Skills and Knowledge

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• Successful completion of the State of Texas Professional Engineer (P.E.) examination is a plus

• Registered as a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas is a plus

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines

• Ability to work well on a team

• Exceptional written and verbal skills

• Knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite

• Knowledge of building codes

• Minimum 5 years’ in a MEP consulting environment

• Experience in the design of lighting and lighting controls, fire alarms, power and power

distribution, technology systems, as well as other standard electrical systems for commercial

buildings


Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Previous experience designing MEP systems for schools
