Java Engineer

Location: Onsite in Bristol, CT

We are seeking a skilled Java Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bristol, CT. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for developing robust systems and working in a collaborative environment.

Key Requirements:

• At least 2 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Experience with cloud technologies is highly preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Bristol, especially during training and initial oversight.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A passion for sports is a plus.
• Familiarity with entertainment or media industries is desirable.
• Experience working in a large enterprise environment is advantageous.

Interview Process:

• Step 1: 30-minute initial screening.
• Step 2: 1-hour technical panel interview.

Responsibilities:

1. Application Development (50%)

• Participate in requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Maintain and enhance existing systems to support a high-performance environment.

1. Troubleshooting and Support (30%)

• Collaborate with team members to resolve complex engineering issues involving high-traffic web services and APIs.
• Contribute to the on-call rotation for issue resolution.

1. Scalability and Innovation (20%)

• Propose and implement improvements to ensure our data platform is scalable, resilient, and reliable.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and share insights with the team.

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Exposure to developing high-volume, fault-tolerant, and scalable systems.
• Hands-on experience with the full application development lifecycle, including unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Java and related open-source technologies, such as:
• Spring Framework
• Tomcat
• MySQL
• Kafka
• Elasticsearch

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
