Job Title: Switcher/Rail Operator

Contract: 6-12 Months Contract

Location: Ada, Michigan 49301

Job Summary:

As a Switcher/Rail Operator, you'll be responsible for supporting equipment movement in the rail/yard, supplementing dispatch and truck processing transactions, and cross-training to support office tasks. If you're looking to build on your truck driving experience and expand your skill set, this is an excellent opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:

• Support yard trailer movement and perform safety checks
• Occasionally operate as a Shuttle Wagon operator and brakeman for railcar movement
• Enter data into JDE and AS400 Trailer Tracking systems
• Provide dispatching support and assist with external carrier check-in/check-out transactions

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Prior switching experience
• CDL License

Preferred Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Excellent customer service skills
• Flexibility to work alternate shifts
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment issues
• Moderate computer skills (AS400 Trailer Tracking/JDE, MercuryGate)
