Real Estate Specialist

Job Overview
The Real Estate Specialist will be responsible for leading land acquisition efforts and managing real estate agreements to support renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong contract management, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement skills to ensure the successful development of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Land Acquisition
- Lead the acquisition of land and property rights for renewable energy projects.
- Prepare, review, and manage real property agreements, including contracts and leases.
- Oversee due diligence processes to ensure compliance with legal and project requirements.
2. Title Procurement
- Coordinate with title companies to initiate and order title commitments.
- Ensure accurate ownership information before entering into lease agreements.
- Facilitate efficient title closing processes to meet project timelines.
- Update and maintain title commitments, tracking any changes in property ownership.
3. Contract Management and Drafting
- Draft, review, and procure real estate agreements, contracts, and leases.
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, company policies, legal regulations, and financing requirements.
- Allocate approximately 25-50% of time to contract management and documentation.
4. Project Support
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, attorneys, and other internal stakeholders.
- Provide real estate expertise throughout the development and construction phases of renewable energy projects.
5. Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Analyze real property agreements, title reports, surveys, and other documents to identify potential issues.
- Provide recommendations to the Project Development team on land rights matters to mitigate risks.
6. Due Diligence
- Oversee comprehensive due diligence activities, including property surveys, title searches, and other investigations.
- Ensure that due diligence findings are documented and addressed in a timely manner.
7. Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain property and agreement data in a land management database.
- Prepare regular reports on real estate activities, project progress, and market trends for internal stakeholders.
8. Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish and maintain relationships with landowners, local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate smooth project development by ensuring necessary approvals are obtained.
9. Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as required to support the development of renewable energy projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in land acquisition and real estate contract management.
- Strong knowledge of title procurement and due diligence processes.
- Ability to analyze property documents and identify potential risks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in data management and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with utility-scale renewable energy projects is a plus.
