We are seeking a talented Senior Controls Engineer to help lead and design instrumentation and controls for water and wastewater projects.
Key Duties:
- Collaborates with project managers and clients to develop scopes of work for I&C systems and projects
- Leads design teams for medium and large I&C projects, including PLC SCADA networks and industrial fiber optic systems
- Selects instrumentation, develops P&IDs, control strategies, and control panel layouts
- Prepares ISA data sheets, instrument sites, input/output point lists, and specifications for instruments, computers, PLCs, and networking equipment
- Designs radio telemetry SCADA systems and manages the instrumentation portion of I&C projects for water and wastewater facilities
- Mentors and trains staff, reviews submittals, and ensures quality management of designs
- Prepares technical reports, manages project timelines, and oversees task delegation for engineering teams and CADD technicians
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with instrumentation and control systems in water/wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure
- Skilled in P&ID development, instrumentation selection, control panel layouts, PLC and SCADA HMI software, process control narratives, control system network design, radio telemetry, logic diagrams, control schematics, and supporting field construction and start-up activities.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within six months
- Experience with Microstation or Autocad
