A healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their learning department as their new Learning and Development Manager. In this role, the Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for designing, facilitating, and coordinating innovative and impactful company-wide learning and development programs and activities.
Responsibilities:
The Learning and Development Manager will:
- Lead and manage a team, fostering a coaching and accountability-oriented environment
- Design and develop diverse instructional materials, including classroom training, self-study resources, e-learning modules, team-building exercises, and on-the-job training, using andragogic principles
- Oversee and facilitate a variety of learning programs, ensuring they meet organizational needs and high-quality standards
- Establish best practices and content development guidelines, providing ongoing oversight to maintain high-quality learning outcomes
- Define and implement metrics to assess the effectiveness of learning programs, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and strategic objectives
- Gather and analyze feedback on learning programs to ensure they are accurate, relevant, and impactful
- Identify learning needs, recommend solutions, and evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions to enhance individual and organizational performance
- Develop and continuously improve a comprehensive learning strategy that aligns with business goals
- Collaborate with HR and business leaders to understand learning and development needs and deploy effective solutions in response
- Conduct assessments and analyze data to identify performance, skill, and knowledge gaps, recommending targeted learning and development initiatives
- Partner with HR to create and enhance employee engagement programs, improving the overall employment experience
- Design and develop programs and curricula, working with departmental leaders, subject matter experts, and external vendors to meet learning objectives
- Implement a communication strategy for learning and development initiatives to ensure effective dissemination and engagement
- Establish and maintain performance evaluation methods for learning content, delivery, and outcomes, using metrics to validate knowledge transfer and ROI
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Learning Management, Instructional Design, Human Resource Development, or a related field
- Experience in designing in-person, e-learning, and blended learning solutions, with proven expertise in developing, implementing, and troubleshooting web-based learning modules and professional development programs
- Background in Leadership Development and Succession Planning
- Strong consultative skills with a strategic approach
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at various development stages
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and handle multiple tasks amidst competing demands
