About Us:

UofL Health is investing in the health of Bullitt County, and the surrounding area with an expansion of UofL Health – Medical Center South to become an inpatient hospital – UofL Health – South Hospital. South Hospital is expected to open in early 2024 and will add approximately 100,000 square feet of new space to the existing facility. South Hospital will include a 10-bed intensive care unit, medical/surgical patient rooms, six operating rooms, new cardiac catheterization lab, expanded emergency department, centralized sterile processing area, laboratory, pharmacy, cardiopulmonary, respiratory therapy and more.

Job Summary:
n
The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) is a competent registered nurse that will deliver nursing care to patients of varying age groups by utilizing the nursing process and nursing practice standards. The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) uses:
n
n - Nursing Practice Competencies to intervene to achieve safe, optimal patient and family centered care health outcomes;
n - Leadership Competencies to coordinate patient care and communicate with the care team;
n - Professional Profile Competencies to develop professionally as a life-long learner, and
n - Practice Outcomes Competencies to evaluate care based on evidence, the UofL Health quality model, and patient safety goals.

The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) demonstrates competency caring for complex patients and participates on the care team to improve the quality of care in the clinical area.

Qualifications
n
Required Qualifications:
n
n - Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.n
n - All new-hire Associate Degree Registered Nurses (new graduate and experienced) are encouraged to start an approved BSN program.
n
n - All new RN graduates will participate in the Nurse Residency program and must successfully complete all activities.
n - Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
n - Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
n - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (may be required for specific clinical areas)
n - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (may be required for specific clinical areas)

Note: additional, specialized certifications may be required or preferred based on unit

Preferred Qualifications:
n
n - Two years of hospital patient care experience.
n
