Job Title: Safety Specialist
Department: Environmental, Health, & Safety
Job Summary:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines to reduce work-related injuries.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate safety programs to promote a safe working environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Prepare, implement, and track regular safety training (PPE, Annual Refreshers, Forklift certifications, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Training).
- Review and update existing safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with HR to set up the new employee safety onboarding process.
- Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
- Work with supervisors to monitor safety compliance and identify issues.
- Investigate accidents, develop prevention plans, implement, and monitor results.
- Oversee workplace repairs, installations, and tasks that could impact safety.
- Lead monthly safety walks and Safety Committee meetings, ensuring concerns are addressed.
- Oversee maintenance of First Aid and AED equipment.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 2+ years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar role (industrial setting preferred).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Familiar with data analysis and safety reporting.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with great interpersonal and communication abilities.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification.
- OSHA 501 Certification.
